Haha. Wasn't Brexit going to stop all this. Control our borders.

Another leaver lie you mugs lapped up. Point is, as the French are saying, is that they want to come to the UK and not stay in France as they can work here and we're overrall a soft touch.

Fucking pathetic Tory government trying to blame the EU/France when it's their own spinless fuck up as usual.

No doubt the left and the French who've encouraged this will find some way to blame the UK government.

NO SHIT. You should become a politician OxBORE and knock some heads together. Though I suspect the only knocking of heads if you were involved would be politicians knocking their heads on the table nodding off while you drone on.

As it currently stands, our govt are the end part of the people trafficking process taking these illegal’s in at the end of the journey.
That link at least needs to be broken.

Re: At least 27 migrants drown in deadliest ever incident on the Channel:
There are hundreds of idle cruise ships dotted around the world , a few of which the government can commission as immigration processing centres. They are equipped to accommodate passengers from the outset so little conversion work needed. They are generally 3, 4 or 5* accommodation, so no quality issues.

Bars & entertainment areas can be converted into mosques/medical areas as and when required and a service tug can drop supplies off on a weekly basis.

They can be laid-to just far enough off shore to deter any attempt at swimming to the land (preferably anchored off Rockall or a decomissioned North sea oil rig).

There ARE solutions to this issue available today. What is lacking is the will or desire to apply them.

MPI - As I said earlier, our Government are fucking spineless.

We can now control our borders, but we are not. And we're allowing the French to take the piss.

It's embarrassing.

Re: At least 27 migrants drown in deadliest ever incident on the Channel:
Well it was bound to happen sometime:

I agree with Auntie Thermite.

This was one of the tenets of Brexit surely? On immigration and illegal immigrants we could act independently and not be confined by the collective.

The border is now more defined and we get to police it.

The current government have certainly not gone as far as people that voted for them envisaged they would and are passing the buck.

Re: At least 27 migrants drown in deadliest ever incident on the Channel:
I note with amusment the easily trolled blue rinse boomer Tory class are currently doing the mental gymnastics to somehow shift the blame from their own party's refusal to act off the excessive powers they granted themselves lately, by passing the buck and whole blame at France's feet.

It has fuck all to do with France that our Navy and police escort these known, tagged and trained mercenaries and release them into the UK, protected and with special dispensation from all the covid restrictions all the regular UK citizens must adhere to.

Truth is, if your hostile foreign rulers in office wanted this to stop, it would, and it'd happen in an instant, they don't, and wont stop until your long planned displacement is complete, and so far they've been met with little to no resistance whatsoever, least of all from their blue rinse "vote blue no matter what they do" fanatical boomer class tory voters.

Anyway you'll get a chance to have your say at the next election where the elected party will continue to drag the nation to its inevitable conclusion and you'll do no more than wish Priti and the rest of the gang got a second term to finally come good on their promise that they never kept a word of.

For the men, it was mostly the nearby states of India, Pakistan & Bangladesh. Few other Arab nationals, and, while I was there, several Turks & Iranians. For the women is was mainly SE Asia & Africa.

Oman had/has a huge smuggling problem (both people & contraband), both across the Strait of Hormuz (Iran), from the south (Yemen) and across the Gulf (Pakistan).

Mike,

Interesting:

They didn't fuck about with foreign criminal, either; big fine, short jail sentence then fucked off out of the country.

That last bit, How and to where?

Can't speak for the countries you listed, but Oman had a strict jobs-for-locals rule - may have even been a law.

Only Oman citizens could buy, licence and drive taxi cabs, for instance; roles generally taken up by immigrants in other nations - even the neighbouring UAE.

While I was there, this was rolled out to other driving jobs - HGVs, couriers & the like - even I had to go through the formalities of proving there wasn't a local capable of doing the job I was there to do. Very few aliens in Omani government roles of any sort, too.

Our office was "raided" several times and people without the correct work permits escorted out of the country.

They didn't fuck about with foreign criminal, either; big fine, short jail sentence then fucked off out of the country.

But to adopt such practices in the UK would be seen as unacceptable by those unwilling to offer up any viable alternative.

What is wrong with places like Qatar, UAE, Dubai etc

They do not give you anything there. if you have no money, you starve, no begging allowed. So your sent back to your country or chucked in prison.

Here you get temp accomadation, free food, some pocket money, laundry and on the list for long term accomodation and some sort of visa/stay in the UK.
